Dawn of the Insect-Man Race

The story: After nuclear war took place the only race surviving the cataclysm is the insect-man, an evolution of the neotenous human form that resists tormenting weather and even intense radiation. These pesky creatures now overwhelm the Earth and are hardy enough to repopulate it.
